Le bonheur des pierres

The idea for this work occurred to me after a trip to Cambodia. At  Angkor, the stones tell a story of the past which strangely echo the suffering of the Khmer people during the genocide perpetrated by the Khmer Rouge. Behind the smile of Buddha transpire destruction and death. The series entitled “The Joy of Stone” is a tribute to these people victims of totalitarian madness.
